Finnish DJ/Producer Darude (born Ville Virtanen) started experimenting with music and DJing while still attending school, adopting the sobriquet of "the Rude" (after Darude) after Swedish rap star Leila K.'s "Ill-mannered Boy."
Manufacturer Jaakko Salovaara (aka JS 16), founder of the independent tag 16 Inch, teamed up with him to press release his number one single, called "Sandstorm." British Neo-Record became involved in the starter project presently afterward. In June 2000, Darude achieved the condition of chart-topping creative person in the U.K. Around the same time, Ville Virtanen successfully performed on the BBC Top of the Pops show, bringing away the spill of his debut album titled Before the Storm.

With no congress to the Ocean Blue, although their list -- the title of the Ocean Blue's moment album -- and swirling dreamlike guitars evoke otherwise, Cerulean is a similar American gem in awe of the pretty atmospherics and aeriform stomp of English post-punk icons like Echo & the Bunnymen and the Chameleons. Cerulean is the inspiration of iI high school friends, Rick Bolander (vocals, guitar) and Mike McCabe (drums). Separated for basketball team years, the deuce all over up meeting once again while visiting household in New York. They got together in Los Angeles and started writing songs, functional on them for a class until they met manufacturer John Chamberlin. The duet then fagged six-spot months recording their debut album, Skylight, released in January 1999. Adding bassist Roger Marinelli, the group penetrated the L.A. golf club circuit and were invited to do at the North by Northwest music festival in Portland, OR. However, Marinelli left field the band not long thereafter, going Cerulean in limbo res publica until the chemical group emerged again in 2001, this time with a second guitarist, Noel Kelly, and a new studio apartment bassist, Will Bongiovanni. The revised lineup recorded Brighter/Still. In 2004, Cerulean released the EP Fractions, receiving praise from critics for its sublime pop.

The New York-based pat trinity Northern State are no funky divas. Julie "Hesta Prynn" Potash, Correne "Guinea Love" Spero, and Robyn "DJ Sprout" Goodmark formed the hip-hop-centric knock turnout in 2000. They're college-educated and slipperiness in checking rhymes, upbringing to give rap a new face in the new millenary.
Potassium hydroxide, wHO earned a stage in theatre and served on Hillary Clinton's 2000 senatorial safari, first-class honours degree met Spero and Goodmark spell attending Half Hollow Hills High School in Dix Hills, Long Island, in the early '90s. Spero, who's studied audio technology, has a degree in women's studies from Oberlin College. Her buddy Goodmark was a hipster wHO had an interest group in the environment. She complete up with an environmental breeding degree and became a kindergarten teacher. Each had a lovingness for Liz Phair, Queen Latifah, De La Soul, and Grand Puba. While suspension knocked out at a company one eventide in mid-2000, Spero and Goodmark idea it'd be funny if they were rappers. They went on to spend the succeeding sextet months in Potash's East Village apartment committal to writing songs and perfecting a hella cool, New York, white-girl-bred pat style.
Northern State made their microscope stage debut at Luna's Lounge in April 2001. They played over 20 shows in and around New York City by the year's end, and quickly the press jumped on Northern State's impressive intro. The Village Voice and Rolling Stone were touting them by fall 2002. During that clock time, Northern State was in the midst of finding a judge. A four-song demonstration tape entitled Hip Hop You Haven't Heard had been recorded in the first place in January. Their kickoff right full-length, Anxious in Stereo, appeared on Star Time in June 2003 to rave reviews. Columbia signed the mathematical group before long after and released the trio's next phonograph record, All City, in 2004. After becoming thwarted with the want of esthetic freedom Columbia provided the group, they wiggled their way out of the contract, and teamed up with Ad-Rock from the Beastie Boys and producer Chuck Brody of Shitake Monkey to make their third record album, Toilet I Keep This Pen? After earshot the ruined outcome, Mike Patton at Ipecac signed the girls to the label's eclecticist roster and released the record in August 2007.

Lucas causes havoc on Celebrity Hijack
'Little Britain' star Matt Lucas has already made his mark as the first personality to act as Big Brother on the new series 'Celebrity Hijack'.
Before the contestants entered the house Lucas chose 20-year-old politician John Loughton as his guinea pig to complete a secret task.
Big Brother gave John a tiny earpiece and instructed him to say only whatever he heard through this earpiece, word for word.
He was told that completing the task successfully would earn him immunity from all evictions but failing would mean that he would be up for every single eviction.
As the other housemates entered the 'Celebrity Hijack' house, Lucas directed John to greet them, make unusual comments to them and behave oddly around them.
As part of his task he was asked to massage other people's shoulders, hug other housemates for too long, ask someone to rub his cramping leg, talk about cake a lot and dance frantically while singing to himself.
After successfully completing the task, Lucas later informed John that he had won a place in the final.
The other housemates were also told about John's task and his immunity from the public vote.

Muse to release next album more 'organically'
Muse have revealed their new material may be released more 'organically' rather than saved up for an album.
The band also explained that the rise of downloading has created "a canvas to do whatever you want".
Speaking to Radio 1's Newsbeat, drummer Dom Howard said: "The traditional format of releasing an album on CD is not the most common thing a new music buyer or listener would typically go and get from a shop these days.
"Not that we're against the concept of releasing an album in the traditional format at all. It's just the way the world and technology is evolving, it's presenting a canvas to do whatever you want and just release music as and when it is ready to release. It can happen much more organically.
"If we group a bunch of tracks together it's because they're meant to be together as a unit."
Howard denied that Muse would be releasing material in the same manner as Radiohead's 'In Rainbows' free download concept however.
Howard confirmed: "We won't be doing the same thing as Radiohead, no.
"Everyone is plucking ideas out of the sky and any band can decide how they release an album. It's all good, I'm all for it."

Parker Unsure About Sex And The City Marriage
Spears' manager is ordered to stay away
Britney Spears' self-styled manager Sam Lutfi has been served with a restraining order, which instructs him to stay at least 250 yards away from the star.
Courts documents say that Lutfi is also barred from communicating with Spears.
Reuters reports that lawyers for the singer's father, Jamie Spears, who has been granted temporary control of his daughter's business and personal affairs, filed court documents saying Lutfi was served with the order at his home on Thursday morning.
In court papers requesting the restraining order three weeks ago, Spears' mother Lynne claimed that Lutfi had drugged her daughter, cut her home phone line and was attempting to control her life.
Lynne Spears said that Lutfi told her and a friend that he gave Britney Spears pills ground up in her food to keep her quiet and at one point he told Britney she had to take 10 pills a day if she wanted to see her two young children.
Spears recently had her visitation rights for her two young sons stripped by a court after refusing to return them to their father Kevin Federline, who currently has custody of the children.
